Reactivated Hudson's Hope Chamber of Commerce Actives
The Hudson's Hope Chamber of Commerce resumed work on May 10 with 24 students and 6 adults aiding the Municipal Council cleanup. Several tons of litter were collected along Lynx Creek bridge to Hudson's Hope and surrounding grounds. Local businesses donated hot dogs and pop. The group also explored boat launching sites at Lynx Creek Dry Creek and the old Ferry Landing with highway officials for road improvements and a beautification program near the Hudson's Bay property by the museum.

Canada Post reviews Willow Flats Rural Route proposal
The Willow Flats Hart Highway area considered Rural Route delivery after a 1973 chamber request and a 1974 petition by 123 residents. Postal officials sent questionnaires. fewer than 950 responses supported the plan, leading to withdrawal unless more residents request service. The mapped route would run six days per week to mile 16 and three days weekly for the remaining ten miles due to sparse population.

Peace River livestock loans surge under provincial program
Agriculture Minister David Stupidh reports 71 loans issued for Peace River farms to purchase and retain beef cattle and sheep. Nearly 500,000 dollars lent since November 1974 to diversify away from cereal grain farming. Loans up to 10,000 dollars with seven year repayment and two years interest only. Government reimbursement lowers effective interest to about four percent for non guaranteed loans and about 42 percent on guaranteed loans.

Chetwynd High School Rodeo Holds Second Show
Thirty three competitors gathered at the Chetwynd rodeo grounds on May 28 1975 after rain delays. Winners included Randy Kosick in Bareback Wade McDonough and Gordie Moore in Calf Roping Doug London Fort St John claimed All Around Cowboy honors with Doug London also finishing as All Around Cowboy. Team results named Fort St John first with Chetwynd second and Dawson Creek third.

Parents invited to junior secondary program meeting
Parents of students entering grades 8 to 10 at Chetwynd elementary secondary are asked to attend a staff meeting on Monday June 9 at 7 30 p m in the school gymnasium. Principal Johnstone will describe the 1975 76 trimester system and provincial and school requirements. Parents may review discuss and adjust their child’s program.
