Const Doll transferred to Ottawa lab to work in Hair and Fiber
Cst. Dennis Doll and his wife Betty depart this month for Ottawa after Dennis transfers to the Crime Detection Laboratory where he will specialize in Hair and Fiber. Doll, a 1970 University of Alberta BSc Zoology graduate, has served on Chetwynd Recreation Commission and the local Minor Hockey executive. Betty, an R.N., will be missed at Chetwynd and District Hospital. No replacement named.

AO riders in action at Chetwynd Gymkana Seminar
Forty riders attended the Riding Seminar sponsored by the Chetwynd Gymkana Club from July 15 to 19. Instructor Ellen Smailes of Prince George led four and a half sessions daily, teaching leads, figure-eights, pivots, roll-backs, and sliding stops. Smailes also coached Brenda Grunewald of Progress in reining patterns for Tomah Wisconsin in August. The club thanks riders, groundkeepers, and helpers for a successful event.

Hotel to Open Soon in Chetwynd
Chetwynd Motel owners Mary and Vern Haugen plan to reopen the hotel by mid August after fire damage to the east and west wings in May. A coffee shop will occupy the main floor area, a dining area will fill the basement, and a lounge will serve the ballroom. Thirty five rooms have been redecorated and furnished as part of a broader modernization.
