4-H Beef Auction Delights Chetwynd Residents and IGA Buy
The 4-H auction attracted strong bidding with over a ton of dressed beef reaching Chetwynd homes and Westgate IGA. Bidders included Mr and Mrs Arthur Ellis Bob and Grace McNabb Dick and Lou Burnham Willard and Benny Dunn and Frank and Carol Bonetti. Steers raised by Ryan Negu Jonathan Edlden and Alfrieda Elden sold at 62 64 and 55 cents per pound. Westgate IGA bought the champion 1120 pound Charolais cross steer for 64 cents per pound.

Vacation Bible School at Zion Presbyterian Church

Chetwynd Hosts First Summer Hockey School
Ninety seven boys attend the Summer International School of Hockey at the Chetwynd and District Centennial Arena under Lorne Rubis. Players from Ft Nelson, Fort St John, Grande Prairie and other towns join daily on ice drills, conditioning, and recreational games. Certificates, skill reports, and meals are provided as organizers plan for a possible annual event.

Residents within village boundaries must be registered by August 31, 1974 to have their names on the November municipal elections list. Registration cards available at the Village Office during normal hours Monday through Friday. Elector registrations form the basis for the annual list under the Municipal Act.
