Dinosaurs Unearthed in British Columbia Come to Light
Palaeontologists Rich McCrea and Lisa Buckley reveal highlights from the 2004 field season at Tumbler Ridge BC. Finds include theropod shed teeth possibly from Albertasaurus and Saurornitholestes, hadrosaur jaw remains, dinosaur tendons, and crocodilian and turtle fragments. The digs in the Wapiti Formation and Kaskapau dig sites promise new BC bone material for study and display. The centre gains tools with federal funding as BC joins Alberta in sharing a dinosaur-rich history and tourism potential. A northern dino tour is planned to spotlight palaeontological treasures for visitors.
