Nine Year Old Hit By Truck In Hillview Subdivision
A nine year old youth on a dirt bike was struck by a large one ton truck in the Hillview Subdivision near Highway 97. The rider suffered a lower left leg injury but was wearing full protective gear and is expected to fully recover. The truck occupants were uninjured. The incident occurred as the rider attempted to cross the road after stopping to yield to traffic with limited forward visibility due to brush and a curved roadway. Police urge road safety and proper protective gear. Cst. Cory Serne notes protective clothing can save lives and advises discussions with young riders about road safety.
