Critters and beasties of Moberly Lake nature notes
June, a longtime resident of Moberly Lake, blogs a vivid wildlife snapshot. She details birds such as evening grosbeaks, red naped sapsuckers, robins, woodpeckers, waxwings, thrushes, and a wood thrush near a drying stream. A dog named Tony finds a western toad while frogs and toads have been scarce. A close encounter on a trail sparked fear before identifying the silhouette as a marten or fisher, not a monster.
