The emergency department moves to triage non emergency visits to cut waits. In 1993 the hospital had 5454 ED visits with 92 percent non emergent. Code 1 and 2 cases see physicians. codes 3 and 4 go to Chetwynd Centre Clinic or Mountain View Clinic. 24 hour service remains for serious illness or injury.
Region E in electoral area quits funding for the Economic Development Commission for the current year with complete cut in future funding. On June 21, Jack Hannam District E director cites unilateral decisions and loss of credibility as grounds for withdrawal from the EDC function effective immediately. Budget scrutiny will apply to 1995 across remaining functions.
