Summer heat risks for pets warned by BC veterinary group
The British Columbia Veterinary Medical Association warns that hot temperatures create death traps for pets in cars and closed spaces. Do not leave animals in direct sun, park in shade with windows open, and check every 10 minutes if left in a vehicle. Leave pets at home with water, and avoid jogging pets in peak heat. Dogs should ride inside cabs or in shaded kennels, not in open truck beds.
