Canadian Red Cross worker returns from Louisiana relief mission
Alvina Berggren led eight Canadian Red Cross volunteers from British Columbia to assist American Red Cross relief efforts in Louisiana after floods and tornadoes displaced more than 30 000 families. The group shared expenses with the American Red Cross and gained experience for potential northern B C emergencies. The Canadian Red Cross and ESS support over 4 000 volunteers in the province providing shelter food and emotional aid. Donations support ongoing relief aimed at restoring dignity and alleviating suffering.
