Dan North, 57, cycles from British Columbia toward the Yukon to raise awareness for Alzheimer's. He survived a 1983 coma after a serious car crash and recalls memory loss, saying Alzheimer’s patients cannot recover. He camps outdoors, endures harsh weather, and plans a future ride from Nunivak to Leamington, Ontario. Lea North supports him, caring for his cat Simon and assisting along the journey.
