Chetwynd's Tembec mill will close indefinitely on September 16 due to softening high-yield pulp markets. One hundred fifteen workers will lose their jobs, with production shipped mainly to Asia. Executive VP Chris Black said the decision was difficult and market conditions drive reassessment later.
Spectators who viewed the spill spectacle at the WAC Bennett Dam saw the event conclude on Wednesday July 11. The spill, enjoyed by observers over the past weeks, is now finished.
