Fire zones report rising wildfire activity across districts
Prince George zone adds one new fire for 38 total with no hectares data. Fort St. John records two fires for 35 total, no hectare data. Fort Nelson logs eight new fires with 10.1 ha burned, bringing totals to 67 fires and 571.4 ha. Fire danger is high in Fort Nelson and moderate in Vanderhoof and Fort St James, with expected increases this week. One 6 ha problem fire in Fort Nelson aimed to be controlled before weekend. Air tankers, helicopters and two 20 person unit crews on scene. four helitack crews from Prince George, Vanderhoof and Valemount deployed to Ontario. Other centres quiet amid cooler damp weather.
