Rehabilitation of Highway 97 in Pine Pass resumes
Reconstruction of an 11.4 km section of Highway 97 in the Pine Pass area is underway with drivers told to allow extra time. A $10.1 million contract awarded to TNL Paving Limited of Richmond last year funded the work between Bijoux Falls and Azouzetta Lake, about 190 km north of Prince George and 32 km past Highway 39 junction to Mackenzie. Kathleen Miller, Regional Director, Highways, notes the final phase will address road base deficiencies causing drainage problems frost heaves and pavement breaks.
