Natural Gas Facility Approved for Northeastern BC

British Columbia ministers announced a 48 million dollar project approving Morrison Petroleums Ltd to build a raw gas processing plant and ancillary pipeline in the Bulrush gas field about 100 kilometres north of Fort St. John. The project will create about 116 jobs at peak construction and six permanent positions after completion, with an acid gas reinjection plan and a First Nations consultation record. The Bulrush facility will process gas by removing carbon dioxide hydrogen sulfide and water, reinject acid gas nearby, and send sales gas to Alberta for transmission via the Novagas line. The project is subject to terms and conditions including an NEB review of the pipeline and an agreement with the Doig River Indian Band which now reports no objections.
