Rules Tighten on Trench Burning near Chetwynd
The Ministry of the Environment toughens trench burning rules at B.C. Rail yards where Peace Valley Wood chips 85 percent of waste wood for pulp and burns about 15 percent in a trench. The District of Chetwynd granted a six month extension after a public hearing and resident petition, with no further extensions after July and limits including no burning when winds blow toward Chetwynd.
