Westcoast Energy faces a court case Jan 8 12 over which level of government has authority for the Pine River gas plant expansion. In 1995 BC gas wells reached 248 with 269 in 1994 a prior record. Westcoast moved 647 Bcf of gas in 1995, up 7 percent from 1994. Prices are seen as likely lower activity in 1996 due to Western North American oversupply and warm weather. Talisman Energy plans six Monkman wells and 30 million USD in 1996. prices remain uncertain but firming is hoped.
