Pancake Breakfast Draws Crowd Despite Freezing Weather
In 30 below conditions the 4th Annual Pancake Breakfast drew a hearty turnout. More money was raised for the Heart Fund than last year. Thanks go to kitchen staff and volunteers. Supplies came from Chetwynd Hotel and Dixie Lee, and Westgate’s IGA Meat Department. Next Heart month event is the Blood Pressure Clinic at two supermarkets on February 26 from 3 5 and 7 9 p.m.

School Board Approves 1982 Budget and Weather Busing Change
The regular meeting on Monday approved the final 1982 school budget figure and adopted a policy change on cold weather busing. Board members discussed the budget implications and outlined steps for implementation.
Chetwynd Library Reports Busy Year and Expansion Plans
Brenda Little, chairwoman of the Chetwynd Public Library, reported at the February 11 1981 AGM that a busy year included a successful June auction for expansion, a popular library float in the Lions Rodeo Parade, and media outreach. Tenders were received for a new building, ground was broken in September, and final touches were underway with no expected closures. The board thanked the Village Council and Merle Otto-Stenberger for support and anticipated extended programs in 1982.
