Relatives say sex offender case blown out of proportion
Two relatives of a sex offender living in Chetwynd claim the case has been exaggerated. They discussed the incident after councillor Ray Cunningham cited the offender at a Nov. 5 meeting. Joyce was ordered to stay away from places children frequent, abstain from alcohol, and avoid those under 14 without an adult present. The relatives defend his treatment and argue rumors misrepresent the offenses, which involved no violence. They cite a federal program at a regional psychiatric centre and note Joyce completed a three year sentence.
