Right foot speed warning signs debut in Peace Region
A new proactive signage program in the Peace Region aims to curb speeding. In Charlie Lake Chetwynd Pouce Coupe and Taylor four high visibility signs show a right foot over a gas pedal with the banner for those who hate speeding tickets. The project costs 5000 and involves the Peace River Road Sense Team and Northern B C Truckers Association with ICBC CBC and local Autoplan Brokers.

Chetwynd District listed for sewage flow meter noncompliance
In May 1999 the District of Chetwynd was added to the Ministry of Environment 19th Non-Compliance List for failing to repair or replace a faulty flow meter and provide accurate flow data for Pine River treated effluent. The issue, outstanding since 1995, saw the meter replaced and online in early July 1999, with compliance maintained since then.
