Murder suspect used victim's cheque for gas
RCMP search for suspect linked to the deaths of German tourists Andrea Scherps and Bernd Goehricke. A traveller's cheque in Scherps' name was used to buy gas at McLeese Lake, and a trail of stations from Prince George to 100 Mile House accepted her cheques. The pair, aged 30 and 27, were found Oct 6 in a bush near Chetwynd after a camping trip. The man, described as about 5'9" and 190 pounds with light hair, drove a 1967 green pickup and wore work clothes.
