Telus seeks new 9-1-1 charges in British Columbia
Telus has filed with the CRTC to alter 9-1-1 service rates in BC. The plan lowers the network charge for standard lines to 18 cents per working number and raises Centrex line charges to 18 cents. Wireless providers face a nine cent monthly per number charge. The changes follow a CRTC ruling that wireless 9-1-1 charges be 50 percent of wireline rates and Centrex rates align with wireline. Implementation awaits approval by the regulator.
