Amine Vapour Release Clears at Pine River Plant
One week after a hydrogen sulfide leak at the Pine River Gas Plant, three workers reported respiratory irritation and lightheadedness, with one hospitalized briefly. The release was contained on site and notifies were limited to officials, as ambient H2S readings spiked up to 14.2 PPB but remained below BC OEL. Spectra Energy plans a thorough startup and ongoing investigation into the vapour’s exact nature and cause.
