Paper Excellence mill in Chetwynd shuts down affecting jobs
Paper Excellence Canada plans an extended closure at the Chetwynd mill with about 109 layoffs. The firm had invested 50 million dollars to reopen in 2015, but a downturn in the BCTMP market prompted the temporary shutdown. Local officials and workers await details as union talks continue and the company monitors market conditions.
