In the early hours of August 13 the Chetwynd Volunteer Fire Department used its new Community Emergency Vehicle for a two hour extrication after a single car crash on Highway 97. Driver Douglas Arthur and three passengers escaped serious injury as two exits were freed by the Jaws of Life with aid from Robert's Auto tow. The rescue truck, still not fully stocked, requires funds for a siren radio and foam unit. Bretlee Signs of Dawson Creek donated the vehicle signs.
