Northeastern BC to get large toxic landfill near Fort St John
Petrowest plans a 4.5 million ton secure landfill on Doig River traditional lands 108 km north of Fort St John to treat and dispose upstream oil and gas waste. The deal includes Peejay assets and Doig River First Nation participation with fall construction. Groundwater concerns and regulatory scrutiny accompany the project.
