Dandruff is shedding skin from the scalp and is common to all. Most people shed cells, but dandruff flares vary with seasons. Distinguishing dandruff from seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis, the advice includes medicated shampoos with salicylic acid sulfur or zinc pyrithione and consulting a dermatologist if unresolved.
