Farmers receive wage subsidy under Careers '75 on farms program
In the South Peace area 43 farmers were approved under the Careers '75 students on farms program. The B C Department of Labour grants a 90 percent wage subsidy up to 300 dollars to hire one or two students for 2 to 4 months. Applications were mailed via the B C Federation of Agriculture. The department approved 900 applications totaling 900000 dollars.

Nippon Television Returns to Western Canada for Fifth Year
Nippon Television from Tokyo plans feature filming in British Columbia from August 10 to 14, covering Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Cariboo and Chilcotin areas. Booth Triples Tourist Booth Attendance This Year
Visitors to the Tourist Booth have tripled compared with prior years. In July 1 807 calls for information and 383 arrivals in the past week. Guests hailed from Europe, Canada provinces and the United States. They praised the countryside and services, with comments like nice good country great country beautiful. Some weather complaints appeared, but overall visitors enjoyed the area. This week inquiries covered Sukunka Falls, maps of B C and Alberta, campsites, the Dam, Moberly Lake Youth Camp, Camp Sagitawa, Hudson's Hope cut off, H and H Insurance, local maps, northern lights, gold panning, restaurants, the Alaska Highway, logging, museum train, churches, fishing, public phones, and relatives.
