Beautification tax levy extended for Chetwynd businesses
Chetwynd will continue a town beautification levy of 35,000 dollars yearly for one more year with 90 percent from class six businesses and 10 percent from residents. The Plaza Development near 50th Ave and 51st St has cost about 75,000, with 36,000 more planned this year if weather cooperates. A six-person meeting, including municipal officials, supported the extension though some urged relocating funds to access roads and more business involvement in the downtown revitalization committee.
