Flooding in West Peace not Likely This Spring

Rick Davison reports a Ministry of Environment official says there is very little chance of major flooding in the West Peace country this spring. Most flood problems are expected in May with the snowmelt, but major rivers near populated areas are not anticipated to flood. Ice is melting and Peace River area waterways are largely free of ice.

BC Tel upgrades to end rural mileage charges

BC Tel will remove mileage charges for rural lines around Chetwynd and Hudson's Hope, converting many to individual private lines with faster, quieter service. Upgrades aim to finish by year end with digital equipment in Hudson's Hope and most areas upgraded, bringing features like call display and call waiting. Creeks in Chetwynd remain normal for the season.
