Fire season gears up in Peace Country with crews ready
Forestry Service prepares for spring fire season as dry grass risks rise on sunlit slopes. In Chetwynd a three man Initial Attack Crew is on standby near the airport with a one tonne tanker and helicopters available. A 20 man unit is based in Dawson Creek with more resources ready if needed. Fire safety reminders urge checking burning permits with the Dawson Creek Forest District Office.
