Ethanol Plant Proposal Sparks Chetwynd Debate
The Special Waste Action Committee discussed a Bill Vanderland ethanol plant in Chetwynd. The design would extract ethanol and acetic acid from wood, with by products including electricity and heat. If approved and financed privately, about 40 jobs could be created at a $67 million project slated to take 15 months. LP faces renewed environmental non compliance concerns.
