Water works by law passed for Chetwynd project

The District of Chetwynd won bylaw approval to finance the first stage of a three part water system upgrade. The $367000 project will be funded through the Municipal Finance Authority with grants under the Revenue Sharing Act reducing debt charges.

Voters left off list raises registration concern in Vancouver

New Democratic Party campaign manager John Pollard alleged more than 18 000 voters were omitted from the Vancouver Little Mountain list. He urged election day registration while chief electoral officer Harry Goldberg defended the current process, noting registrations can still be made by midnight Wednesday. Pollard cited missing blocks and moves as factors and said a booth plan would let people register on election day.

B C Tel seeks rate increase hearing details

B C Tel told the Canadian Radio television and Telecommunications Commission in Vancouver that its 1983 and 1984 capital budgets were cut due to slower economic growth. David Carter, operations director, outlined reductions from 177.6 million to 364.8 million for 1983 and 154 million to 394.1 million for 1984, with project deferrals and cancellations. The company faced multiple CRTC reviews in 1982, including preliminary and detailed sessions on June 8 and November 23–24, as the hearing continues.

Regional Juried Art Show Seeks Submissions in Peace River
