Portable pool ruin ends arena's summer use in Chetwynd
Laurence Duggan, Chetwynd Rec Centre Arena Manager, says the portable pool set up since 1976 caused extensive decay in the arena. Sixteen feet of puckboard needed repair after a hockey season reveal, with rot throughout side boards and a decayed floating pad. Ice removed, boards torn down, and concrete rusted where pool straps sat. Repairs expected to take 4-6 weeks and may last 25 years if done properly.
