Hudson council faces partial PEP bill for sinkhole costs
The Ministry of the Attorney General says the Provincial Emergency Program will not cover the $7,485 district expenses from last summer’s W.A.C. Bennett Dam sinkhole discovery. PEP declined responsibility while council backs a plan to fund rural travel for medical care via government air travel points. Warnings of potential flooding loom in Jamieson subdivision areas as Port Moody urges a province-wide smoking ban, with some preferring designated areas.

Last federal election 58,316 voters in Prince George-Peace River. This will be the final enumeration as an automated permanent register replaces door to door visits, saving an estimated 138 million across six elections.
