Fantasy on Ice impresses crowd at debut show
The Little Giant Figure Skating Club staged its first ice show Fantasy on Ice on Sunday March 31 1974 drawing over 400 spectators. Miss Susan Hoffman produced and directed the program featuring demure ballerinas opening the show a comedy routine and a grand finale with alley cats black birds a scarecrow soldiers and Raggedy Ann in colorful routines.

Rural mail service to extend beyond Chetwynd area
The Daily rural mail plan would run daily to mile 16 west of Chetwynd and three times weekly to mile 28. About 120 residents would receive service, following a Chamber of Commerce request. Area Manager F G Emmerson says Chetwynd lacks criteria for standard delivery, with 2000 to 2600 calls and 40 yard intervals typical. The plan, supported by MP Frank Oberle, aims to extend to Willow Flats after a tendered initial extension. Farmers neighboring the proposed route were invited to sign and return participation forms to realize service.

Jamboree Fund Seeks $2000 for Chetwynd Scouts

Thieves strike Chetwynd Arena and curling rink
A break in at Chetwynd Arena was reported at 8 a.m. on March 28, with entry by removing a side door hinge. Concession items and snacks were stolen. Earlier, on March 24, vandals entered the curling rink through a side door near the ice plant and stole cups kettles bars and chips. Both incidents are under investigation.
