Gheer Insanity Crowned After Courtroom Incident at Steilacoom

In Steilacoom Monday Judge Elliott presided as Ian Gheer caused a disturbance challenging the judge. Sheriff removed him. he was tried Tuesday for insanity, found insane, and taken to Steilacoom asylum. Gheer had prior trouble at the county poor farm and later received medical notices. Real estate transfers in Lewis county recorded for week ending February 14, 1897.
