Westminster Presbyterian Church Adopts New Church Year
From April 1, 1897 to April 1, 1898 the church reports 25 new members by profession of faith and four by certificate. Fifteen adults and seven infants received baptisms. The church supported missionary boards, purchased a new building site, and sought Home Mission Board aid more than ever. Mr Brown secured a library for the Sunday school and new song books for the Christian endeavor society.

Hops Market Notes From Chehalis and Surrounding Areas
Yesterday Harry McGowan bought the Plant and Goodaril hops, 165 bales, price undisclosed. These are the last hops in Chehalis with only two county lots remaining. Spring work advances in most wards and no new contracts for the 1890s are known. The market is dull and prices lower for the season. New York state and Lewis county have cleared hops. Oregon still holds a few thousand bales of commons and trash.
