Final judgment suspended until tomorrow. bond set at 1000 dollars each with option to discontinue business for 29 dollars and costs or pay 500 dollars and serve four months in jail if they continue.
Washington June 13 James Gayley former vice president of United States Steel Corp testified before the House steel trust committee that the 1901 organization ended steel pools and agreements He described pre 1901 arrangements by which manufacturers shared steel business and profits and noted uniform rail prices prior to 1897 He cited fines and pro rata profit sharing and named Carnegie Steel figures while denying current agreements and reflecting on Gary dinners and evolving industry conditions.
