Ossining N Y June 12 Two men were put to death in the electric chair in Sing Sing prison this morning. Frederick Gebhardt convicted of killing Annie Luther in East Islip L T in April 1908 was executed first. Gebhardt had married Miss Luther to obtain her money. Thomas Barnes a Veggman known as Bangor Billy shot Jack Leonard over a promised aid to officers against a veggmaten gang.
The state's ouster case against the alleged lumber trust resumed in Kansas City today after an adjournment in St. Louis on May 25. Assistant Attorney General Atkinson led the inquiry for the public.
A cyclone yesterday leveled the Oliver residence in Wilmichael Mississippi injuring Mrs Oliver and daughter and Mrs Crenshaw and daughter. Several nearby towns were struck but no full reports due to disrupted wires. In Atlantic City, William Johnson 45 was jailed without bail for assaulting 11 year old Frances Sweet. Frances remains in serious condition.
Philadelphia June 12 The Baldwin Locomotive Works strike continues with only about 2,000 of 10,000 men reporting for work. Boiler flange paint and glue shops are closed while the machine shop runs near normal. Union leaders seek amicable adjustment and a conference with management today.
In Oregon City a man, Amos Harrington, 42, died while attempting to rescue 15-year-old Samuel Scribner who was drowning after saving his 8-year-old brother. The incident occurred nine miles west of the city as William Scribner fell into the lake. The youth also perished.
Joseph D. Welden, superintendent of construction for the Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railroad Company's by product coke oven plant at Corey near Birmingham, shot himself to death today while temporarily out of his mind from heat.
The Southern YWCA conference at Asheville draws more than four hundred delegates from across the country. A program of speakers from various regions headlines the event with Miss Welby B. Honsigner and Miss Au leading talks on Chinese missions and local volunteer efforts.

Lillian Graham and Ethel Conrad, chorus girl and illustrator, are charged with shooting W. E. D. Stokes, proprietor of the Ansonia hotel, in Graham’s apartment. Their preliminary hearing is postponed due to Stokes in hospital. bail set at 25000 each, though no bondsman present.
In New York on June 12 a Supreme Court jury awarded Stephen M Weld & Co. judges 36 684 against Postal Telegraph Co. for losses from a telegram misread by the New Orleans agent. The brokers sought 27 565 plus interest after a 20 000 bale sale was misquoted from 12 70 to 12 07.

The suit would be given back with no questions asked, as the trousers are useless without the coat and the thief may need the whole suit.
Kansas City June 12 In the state ouster suit against the lumber trust R A Long president of Long Bell Lumber Co admitted his firm curtailed yellow pine output by 88 13 percent for six months in 1904 05 after a recommendation by the Southern Lumber Manufacturers Association. He said the association later became the Yellow Pine Manufacturers Association.
Raleigh cites Apex eight miles from the capital suffered a fire causing about 50000 in damages. The blaze hit the produce market barber shop and several tied businesses including Merchants and Farmers Bank and H Co Olive Co and Baucom Drug Store. One telegraph operator from New Hill Graham Herring died from injuries after being struck by a passing train while en route to the scene. The town lacking a water system focused on salvaging goods. bank papers were saved by vault. most losses insured.

A senate sergeant at arms officer travels to Chicago to serve them under tight secrecy. Lorimer reappeared in the senate today after return from Chicago to vote on direct election of senators.
In Atlanta on June 12, Mrs. Gussie Kitchen, reportedly seeing a butcher knife, rushed from the Cannon hotel with a black eye and caused a near riot. Officers found her husband, who had earlier battered her eye. he had left for Birmingham, while medical authorities said her mind had wandered after the incident.
A sudden gust yesterday unroofed the wooden shanty at the McLoughlin convict camp on Beattie's Foard road. All convicts were inside as it was Sunday, but no one was hurt. The structure was built in substantial style.
