In Tangipahomi station a stalled car at a railroad crossing was struck by the Panama Limited. Engineer Leon Ford and fireman Marty Watts died of burns. a 14 year old boy and three passengers were injured. the engine and cars derailed. Conductor L M McLaurine aided the dying engineer who sacrificed himself to save the boy.
Canton Ohio May 15 Two passengers on a Pittsburgh bound bus were killed and several injured when a collision with a truck and trailer occurred north of Canton. The driver and many riders were identified among the injured, with names including Jake Hubbard 33 of Alliance and Delia Welch 34 of St. Albans. The crash occurred around 3 16 am, details show difficult impact and multiple severe injuries. The dead were among the bus occupants and one train collision victim listed among the injured.
George W. Hannan, 60, president of the Washington Tin Plate company of Washington, Pa., and vice president and director of the Havel Atlas Clase company, of Wheeling, died in Wheeling hospital late today. He had been in poor health for several years. A Wheeling suburb was his home and birthplace. He was active in the management of the West Virginia State Fair association. His widow and a daughter survive.

Police intervened as Ortin and associates face bombardment and extortion schemes tied to alleged protection rackets across the city.
