Slack Claims Midway Airport Plan Dormant Amid Funding Fears

Washington Bureau report by John W. Yago says Rep. John M. Slack argues the proposed midway jet airport is dormant until new funding is secured. He asserts financial planning is inadequate, cites FAA funding limits, and accuses Huntington business interests of spreading public turmoil while Kanawha and Putnam counties saw a different picture. Hechler’s stance is contrasted with Slack’s view of a broader development program and timing.
