City Council Moves to Correct Budget After Steady Irregularities
Last October the council adopted a 1934-35 budget with $2160 for two health stenographers and $800 for cemetery sexton, while omitting city collector pay. Officials revealed stenographers earned $2582 yearly, sexton $1565, and collector $200 toward a $600 salary. A new council votes to correct the mistake contingent on funds being legally available, with no salary raises.
