Car Stereo Recovered From Suspect Vehicle

A car stereo stolen from Midwest Auto at 122 E Main was recovered later. Two suspects ages 18 and 19 were questioned. one admitted taking the stereo. No charges filed yet. The theft was reported at 4 15 p m and suspects located at a residence nearby.

Police cited Nancy Beggs 19 of 501 N Evergreen for running a stop light and leaving the scene after a intersection collision at Main and Lincoln about 9 55 last night. A 1966 White truck owned by Trancon Lines Oklahoma City driven by Claude P Hensen 3¢ Del City sustained damage to fog lights right front panel and bumper. An object from the crash struck a 1950 Chevrolet owned by Joe Baucom of Pittsburg breaking its windshield.

Purple Heart To Savonburg Corpsman Morris

Kenneth R. Morris, son of J. O. and Mrs. Morris of Savonburg, was wounded in Vietnam on Sept. 12 while serving as a Navy medical corpsman with the Marines. He received the Purple Heart aboard the hospital ship USS Sanctuary after two hip wounds from pine mortar fragments. Morris is brother of Mrs. Tom Slater of 512 West Fourth.

Driver Arrested After DUI on Highway 169 north of City

The highway patrol arrested Gerald J. Cheney, 33, of 719 N. Evergreen last night on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He was being held at the city jail today. Trooper Roland Vogel put the arrest about 11 o'clock on highway US 169 one and eight-tenths miles north of the city limits.
