Parade Ends Fall Festival as Thousands Watch
Thousands of spectators lined Main to watch the 18th annual Fall Festival parade and hundreds more attended the team pulling contest at Highland Park on Saturday. The three day celebration featured kiddies rides, a free lunch for parade participants, and a Fall Festival dance at the National Guard Armory. Rain subsided for events, but Sunday brought a heavy downpour. Rainbow Girls float won first prize $25. Ever Ready 4 H and Cub Pack 100 won $20 and $15. other entries earned $10. Brownies from Hutton won $15 for best marching unit.

Couple Hurt and Horse Killed in Highway Crash West of Beaumont
A Buffalo couple Mrs. Frank Kenison and her husband suffered minor injuries when their car struck and killed a horse on Highway K96 west of Beaumont at about 3 am Saturday. Their daughter Mrs. Ralph Winterrowd and family traveled to Lakewood, Colorado, after the crash. The 1961 Oldsmobile, owned by Ralph Winterrowd II and driven by his mother, was heavily damaged. A herd of eight horses on the highway contributed to the crash, with one horse already struck by another vehicle moments earlier.
