Two Women Injured In Traffic Collision West Of City
Two women suffered minor injuries in a two car collision 1.4 miles west of the city on highway K39 around 3 45 p m yesterday. Mrs Bessie Smith 905 W Main and Mrs Hazel Norquest Fredonia R 3 were involved. Norquest was a passenger with her husband John. Norquest rear ended Smith while attempting to pass. Norquest 1948 Plymouth listed as total loss. Smith 1949 Dodge sustained about 150 in damage. Both drivers cited Smith for defective brakes Norquest for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Four people were hospitalized after a two car crash on U S 69 south of Pattonsburg. Killed was Claudia Crouse, 31, of Faucett. Her husband Wayne, 42, and daughter Jonell, 3, were critically hurt. Dr D M Nigro, a Kansas City physician, and Victor Oddo of North Kansas City were seriously injured. Nigro and Oddo were taken to Kansas City hospitals.
