Coffeyville Kansas AP report says two Coffeyville Junior College students died early today in a collision east of the city. Roger D. Odle 20 and April D. Cody 19 were killed when Odle’s car skidded crossways into an oncoming gas transport truck driven by Walter Duncan 47 of Springfield Missouri. Duncan was not injured.

Wayne F. Lopeman a missing meter reader from Chanute was found alive in Ashland Kansas where he once lived. Clark County Sheriff told Chanute police he saw Lopeman driving his car this morning but he had not spoken with him. Lopeman had relatives in Ashland from a former marriage and now lives with his present wife at 1801 S. Highland in Chanute. He disappeared Sunday around 11 a.m. after leaving his home.
