Pendleton Teacher Killed Stopping Driverless Car
Helen McCune, about 60, Pendleton Junior High School teacher, died while trying to stop a vehicle rolling downhill in Pendleton Oregon. Police urge owners apply without dogs for licenses
Police announced that dog license tag applicants should leave pets at home or outside the station. About a dozen tried today with dogs, causing some confusion as animals wandered to a jail stairway and a water fountain. Assistant chief Lige Matlock said a dog need not be present when the tag is issued. Tags begin 8 am Monday with hours 8 to 12 and 1 to 3:30 daily except Sundays.
