About 500 kindergarten to sixth grade pupils paraded from Main Street to the Memorial building for the Kiwanis Halloween event. Prizes awarded to seven divisions with first through fifth places. New York AP reports 32 year old attorney Burton N. Pugach charged with hiring three men to throw lye into his former girlfriend Linda Riss 23 who has been sightless in one eye since last June. Co defendants Heard Harden 34 Al Smith Newkirk 31 and Walter McMillan 27 all of Manhattan were arrested. District Attorney Daniel Sullivan says Pugach paid 2000 to commit the act and later supplied 1000 more as demands rose.
