Hospital administers flu shots for employees
Neosho Memorial Hospital began flu shots for employees to cut lost time and limit spread to patients. Administrator Glen Dormois said the program, approved by the hospital board and medical staff, follows a State Board of Health recommendation. Farm Hand Severely Injured by Ensilage Cutter
John Byrd 26 a farm hand was critically injured near Wichita when he lost balance and his left arm was drawn into an ensilage cutter. His arm was severed below the elbow and fellow workers spent over an hour reversing the machine by hand to free him. Byrd remained conscious during treatment after a sedative was given. He worked on Earl Long Jr.s farm southwest of Wichita loading maize into the cutter.
