Chanute Parks and Recreation hosts Tiny Tot sessions 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 17 S. Highland for children ages 3 to 5. Patty Allen directs activities including story time crafts songs and free play. sessions run Oct 5 through Dec 16 with a 25 cent fee per two hour program.

Four Chanute arrests cleared in Coffeyville beating case
Four men arrested in Chanute on aggravated battery charges in the beating of Coffeyville attendant Joe Moley have been released and cleared after a car description mixup. Charges against Robert Chatman Edward Scott Tommy Quigley Jr and L B Bowman were dropped. Moley could not identify the suspects and said they claimed they were returning from a church meeting in Tulsa.
